Eight years in a modern house on King Street, Hebden Bridge, at the confluence of trunk road, canal, railway and the River Calder — indoor cats from here on, with a wooden decking area for supervised outside time.

King Street is down in Hebden Bridge proper, on the valley floor. For the chronicle of the place there is HebWeb; for its evenings, the Trades Club and the Picture House. The cats attended none of it.
